The Aims of the Mission

Industrial Mission is primarily concerned with the economic and social sphere of life and with people in their working roles and responsibilities, in the places and organisations where they are employed and fulfil their responsibilities.

SCADIM is concerned to fulfil the aims of the Church's industrial mission within its area of operation:

(1) Exploring the effects of industrial and economic life on the people involved in it, on the society which depends on it, and the world which is determined by it; to get to know people, learn to understand their situation, gain their trust and stand alongside and give support to them as they face moral and ethical questions.

(2) Helping individuals and groups at all levels to respond to the economic, social and political issues which affect their lives, from the perspective of the Christian Faith; especially by using the insights of the gospel and the values of the Kingdom of God which it proclaims.

(3) Sharing  this activity with the Church as a whole and with those outside the Church who choose to work with us; irrespective of faith, gender or sexual orientation.
